Acceptable Media: All wall-hung, two dimensional work: oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastel, gouache, collage, drawing, mixed media, photography, digital art, etc. Show Dates: March 3 - 17. 3rd Annual Art in the Pines Spring Art Festival and Sale, Sat May 5 (10am - 5pm) & Sun May 6 (10am - 4pm). Location: By the Visitors’ Center atop the Torrey Pines State Natural Reserve in San Diego.

San Diego Art Institute. "Southern California Regional Juried Award Exhibition". Deadline March 1-23rd. Show dates: March 31-May 13. Click here for entry forms and prospectus.The Kenneth A. Picerne Foundation is now accepting applications for the 2012 Artist Outreach Project. The Foundation will award up to 20 artists $12,000 each for a one-year grant to provide educational, mentoring, and/or therapeutic arts experiences for people of any age group who lack opportunities to engage in meaningful arts programs. For the application, artists are asked to outline a plan to provide arts programming for the underserved group they would like to serve at a nonprofit they intend to collaborate with. Visual, literary, and performing artists 55 years old and older who live in North San Diego County or Orange County are eligible to apply. The UBS Financial Services, Inc., 17140 Bernardo Center Dr. in Rancho Bernardo (in Excellence Bldg. to right of library) is having monthly exhibits of local art. This community outreach program was started by three financial advisors with UBS, namely, Sharon Ford, Virginia Kuwahara and Juleane Spittler. They were inspired to do this by the free concert program at the library and planned the visual arts reception to take place on same day as the library’s concerts. In addition, those attending the art reception, if they wish, will receive a free portfolio review or a financial plan.
