Emily Hall Tremaine Foundation’s Exhibition Award supports innovative art exhibitions throughout the United States that challenge convention through the exploration of critical ideas in contemporary art. Curators partnered with an established nonprofit exhibition space are encouraged to apply for the awards, which range from $50,000 to $150,000. Awards are intended to fund exhibitions at the beginning stage of their development and to provide the curator with the support needed to fully explore the concept and realize the exhibition. Intent to apply Deadline: via email March 5. Full application Deadline: April 2. Visit the Foundation’s website to review the application Attention Sculpturists: 2011-2012 El Paseo Invitational. The exhibition space consists of eighteen concrete pads located in the median along a 1.5 mile stretch of prime retail. Artwork will be installed October - November 2010 and remain on site until November 2012. Deadline: March 5, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. (postmark/email deadline). THEME: Desert light The Kenneth A. Picerne Foundation will award twenty visual, performing or literary artists $12,000 to provide educational, mentoring or therapeutic art experiences of their own design to underserved people who lack opportunities to engage in meaningful arts programs.
Artists must be 55 years of age or older and live in North San Diego County or Orange County. and collaborate with a nonprofit organization. for six to eight direct contact hours a week for one year.
