Paint Outs*

NCSFA'S   Plein Air Exhibit  March 2012

NCSFA members  are invited to exhibit one painting each in our  members "plein air"  exhibit starting in March at the Bernardo Heights Community Center.
The paintings will be exhibited for 2 months at Bernardo Heights and then those who wish to may move their paintings over to the Poway Library for an additional 2 months. Take-in date and times will be posted here and via member's email soon. The paintings should have been painted  en plein air and done within the last 2 years.
Coordinators:  Janet Perkin, Kathryn Peterson and Lori Chase

Unless otherwise noted, all sketch and paints outs are from 9:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Monthly reminders are emailed to all members. Paint outs are organized by members on a monthly basis. The member chooses the date and location. If you would like to choose a venue and a month, contact the paint out chair, Lori Chase, by Clicking Here.

Next Paint Out:
Outside of Amy’s Castle at Mt. Woodson. Wed, Feb 22.  9:30 to 12:30

Coordinator:    Ahna Street   760/522-1552

In addition to the castle, there are flowers and other interesting things to paint.     Food and restrooms are located at the golf course snack shop fairly close by.  You may wish to bring your lunch because golf course food is often not great tasting and relatively expensive.

The January paint out at Ramona Grasslands Preserve was fun and productive.  A big thanks to Rose Irelan for finding this spot and coordinating the paint out.  It is a beautiful scenic area and we all agreed to return to paint there again very soon.

We need a volunteer to be in charge of the March paint out.    You get to pick a spot and a date then give me the information and I will send out the notices for you.

Also, if anyone is interested in a Saturday  or even a Sunday paint-out, please let me know.    Click here to contact Lori Chase

*What is a paint out?

If you have never been to a paint out, you've been missing the convivial atmosphere of artists painting and sketching together. The ncsfa paint outs are relaxed, with no pressure to "produce". There is a vast skill range; some artists are professionals and others are on page one of their first sketchbook, yet at paint out events we share a common experience. Everyone does their own thing; bring your own supplies and a chair. This is a great way to meet other artists. We especially welcome newcomers.
