Paint Outs*, Model Sessions

Unless otherwise noted, all sketch and paints outs are from 9:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m. Monthly reminders are emailed to all members. Paint outs are organized by members on a monthly basis. The member chooses the date and location. If you would like to choose a venue and a month, contact the Webmaster.

August 18.
Come and paint a still life at Emma Muzzy’s house.
12-3 PM bring a sack lunch and something to sit on.
Directions will be provided at a later date.

September-Scripps Ranch Pond by the Library.
Date and directions TBD.
Lunch after at La Bastide ($10-up) in Scripps Ranch Shopping area.

Monthly Clothed Model Session: First Monday, July 5th in Escondido: three-hour drawing/painting open session, working with the clothed model in contemporary attire. The only fee will be for the model which will be maximum of $20 per artist each session.  This is not a class.  If anyone is interested please contact Jo-Lind via e-mail address. Space is limited to approximately eight participants.

*What is a paint out? If you have never been to a paint out, you've been missing the convivial atmosphere of artists painting and sketching together. The ncsfa paint outs are relaxed, with no pressure to "produce". There is a vast skill range; some artists are professionals and others are on page one of their first sketchbook, yet at paint out events we share a common experience. Everyone does their own thing; bring your own supplies and a chair. This is a great way to meet other artists. We especially welcome newcomers.

San Diego County Fair Plein Air Painting Contest, was Thursday, June 24. Kathryn Peterson participated and won third place. Her piece will be on display for the duration of the fair.

San Diego Watercolor Society Wednesday Paint Outs (meet 9:30am; 12:30 pm critique). Click here for more information, then scroll to paint out page. No leader, no roll call, no fees. ALL ARE WELCOME: beginners as well as experienced plein air painters.
