Cathy Carey was born is Washington DC and educated at Corcoran School of Art in Washington DC. She earned her BFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Common Wealth University. She is an award winning artist and has her artwork in several galleries in Virginia, California, and  New Mexico. She has taught Color Theory at the Art Institute of California and many art workshops in Escondido, Santa Fe, Pasadena, and San Diego.
